● Among the grace of Allah Almighty upon His servants is that He has created for them seasons of good deeds, in which good deeds are multiplied and obedience is varied, and among the greatest of these seasons is the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, as they are blessed days and Allah Almighty has sworn by them in Holly Quran, out of veneration for their status, as:
Allah Almighty says: {By the dawn * and by the ten nights * and by the even and the odd}.
The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ, said: (There are no days during which the righteous action is so pleasing to Allah than these days (i.e., the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah).” He was asked: “O Messenger of Allah, not even Jihad in the Cause of Allah?” He (ﷺ) replied, “Not even Jihad in the Cause of Allah, except in case one goes forth with his life and his property and does not return with either of it).
● The best deeds in these ten days are:
1- Fasting:
Fasting through these days and it is confirmed by fasting on the Day of Arafat for non-Hajj pilgrims.
-The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked about fasting on the day of Arafah (the 9th of the month of Dhul Hijjah). He replied, “Fasting on the day of Arafah is an expiation for the preceding year and the following year.”
2- Increase the mention of Allah Almighty:
– Allah Almighty says: {and mention the name of Allah on known days over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals};
Abdullah bin Abbas, may God be pleased with them, said: “These are the ten days.”
– so increase of saying a lot of Glory be to Allah (Tasbih), Praise be to Allah (Tahmid), There is no god but Allah (Tahleel), and Allah is Great (Takbir).
3- Drawing closer to Allah (Almighty, the Majestic) through the ritual of sacrifice, because this is in agreement with the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and reviving the Sunnah of the beloved Abraham (peace be upon him), and caring for the rights of the poor and needy, and it is one of the great rituals of religion:
-Allah Almighty says: {Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and give good tidings to the doers of good}.
-Allah Almighty says: {So pray to your Lord and sacrifice [to Him alone]}.
-Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that God’s Messenger sacrificed with his own hand two horned rams which were white with black markings, mentioned God’s name and said, “God is most great.” He added: I saw him saying, “In the name of God. God is most great.”
(Bukhari and Muslim)
4- Giving a charity, especially to those with relatives and needy.
– He, ﷺ, says:
(Sadaqa appeases the Lord’s anger and averts an evil death).
-He, ﷺ, says:
(Protect yourself from the fire even with a part of a date).
– The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , says:
(He who is desirous that his means of sustenance should be expanded for him or his age may be lengthened, should join the tie of relationship).
May Allah accept good deeds from us and from you.. Oh Allah, please write a proof for us to your Sacred House.. and protect our Ummah and raise its banner in the worlds.
